2. What does Origin do?
Origin is a financial wellness platform that allows companies to help their collaborators put their financial lives on track. We’re the only platform in which employees can easily manage their savings, 401k, insurance, and student loans.

3. How will my day to day be?
Engineering managers at Origin have a lot of freedom to decide how they spend their time, but ultimately they are responsible for getting better outcomes from their teams, meeting present-day output demands while improving the performance over time. That translates into devoting most of your efforts to people, processes and purpose.
Working on people means giving feedback incessantly, raising Origin's cultural and technical bar, helping teammates grow, being a source of emotional stability and hiring & growing great people.
Working on processes is coordinating well with other teams, learning from past mistakes, making good & fast decisions, being on top of projects and planning for tomorrow.
Working on purpose means motivating your team to achieve its goals, getting people to the same page and helping your teammates understand Origin's goals, culture and priorities so they are empowered to make good decisions.
A lot of your time will (unfortunately, we know) be taken by meetings – we expect you to be great at running your team's. You will also join our weekly all-hands and will have an individual one on one with our CTO every other week.

We have a growing all-star team of engineers. We need all-star managers to help them be even more successful. That means you need to be a natural leader who:
- Communicates directly & often;
- Has managed effective teams before;
- Is relentlessly resourceful and intellectually rigorous;
- Knows how to setup processes from first-principles;
- A good English speaker; and,
- Is willing to live in the biggest city of the Southern Hemisphere, São Paulo.
Also, while you don’t need to know the technologies we are currently using (Django, React, Typescript, Terraform) nor be the best engineer in the room, you do need to know how to code to be able to follow conversations.
